There is no typcal day in the life of a Loggie.
There are many different types of jobs.
Each one is different
Fuels: Monitors loading of fuel onto aricraft...is big in the flying schedule.
Traffic Management: manages the movement of cargo and people to and from the base.
Readiness: Works the deployment of people and cargo.
Supply: Manages the parts/supplies on base...works closley with aircraft maintenance.
Vehicle Management: Manages the base vehicle fleet.
The best way to address is to ask questions and I(and other officers) will give you examples from expereince.
is there any way to know what job your will get as a loggie? or is it just luck of the draw?
Austin,
If assigned to an LRS, you will not know. Most likely, you will get some of the bigger flights, like Distribution or Readiness.
If assigned to an APS, you will most likely go to Air Terminal Operations.
I am happy to talk to you one on one. My e-mail is barry.nixon@usafa.af.mil
How often did you have to command convoys and how dangerous was this duty?
